We are a leading provider of Power, Special Cables & Cables Accessories in the Middle East & Africa regions and the largest and most successful Power Cables producer in Egypt. Our market share in Egypt is over 50% in terms of sales revenues, and we are one of the largest two producers of cables and cables accessories in the Middle East and Africa regions based on our production capacity. Our primary focus is on power cables for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Our other products and services have been developed in response to demand of our customers and to complement our core competence in power cables.

We manufacture our products both locally and elsewhere in the region, with 18 production facilities located in the Middle East & Africa including Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Ghana, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Libya. El Sewedy Cables current total production capacity sum up to 124000 tons of cables and 120,000 tons of copper rods. The group’s turnover has steadily been rising during the past few years as it jumped from 1.52 billion Egyptian pounds in 2003 to 4.57 billion during the first half of 2007.

We are a vertically integrated producer of power and special cables and cable-related products and services and offer a range of complementary products and services to our customers. In addition to power cables, we also produce, for example, plastics used in the production of power cables, cable joints and terminators. Our operations are divided into three different segments:

• Wires & Cables, which produce power and special cables and winding wires, as well as raw materials used in cables production, such as copper wire and plastic and polypropylene filler;
• Electrical Products, which produces cable accessories such as modular terminators, power cable joints and transformers, as well as other products such as fiberglass and concrete poles for street lighting; and
• Turnkey Projects, which implements cable-related infrastructure projects to meet the needs of our customers.

During the year ended December 31, 2006, Wire & Cable generated 94% of the group’s revenues and 82% of gross profit. Electrical Products generated 2% of group revenues and 7% of gross profit while Turnkey Projects generated 4% of group revenues and 11% of gross profit.

Although the company began as an Egyptian local manufacturer, it has branched out regionally and internationally and we currently export our wide range of quality products to over 45 countries around the world in Africa, Middle East, Europe and the Far East.
