About Miniflex
Miniflex designs and manufactures optical fibre installation systems and products for the FTTH.
Our FTTH solution set provides service providers & municipalities and their installation partners with a cost effective system for connecting the subscriber to the network access terminal be this in the building itself or in the street.
This solution set makes up the Miniflex FFTH™ system which incorporates several key Miniflex product technologies. These are the DVC™ Microduct; a UL Riser certified cable raceway or conduit which is resistant to kinks. It has a hard inner lining that makes it easy to quickly push or pull fibre cable through it so reducing installation time.
To take advantage of the ability to push cable through our DVC Microduct Miniflex has developed the QuikPush™ cable. This cable, an extension of our TuffNut™ range, is a pre-terminated cable made using our OFPT sheathing. It is terminated at one end with a standard SC/APC connector and at the other with the Miniflex Balistix connector which is small enough to be pushed through the Microduct.
Using our battery powered WAM™ installation tool, the QuikPush™ cable is pushed from the subscriber end down to the network access point (NAP). When the Balistix connector emerges at the NAP its protective cover is removed and it is made up into a standard SC/APC connector by clicking home its housing elements in two easy steps. The process of completing the subscriber connection to the NAP only takes a few minutes and eliminates the need for splicing in the field thus saving considerable time and money to the service provider.
At the NAP Miniflex provides a Splice-less Network Access Closure (SNAC™) into which the QuikPush™ subscriber cable is connected. The SNAC™ is a small network access terminal that can accept up to 12 subscribers.
