  Shaw to refurbish emissions-reduction equipment at Appalachian Power Amos power plant
The Shaw Group Inc. announced today that its Maintenance Group has been awarded a contract by Appalachian Power, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), to provide all phases of construction services to refurbish and upgrade an existing electrostatic precipitator located at the Amos Power Plant near Charleston, W.Va. The project will assist AEP in its program to reduce emissions from its existing coal-fueled generating fleet.

Cameron receives award for 25 subsea trees from Petrobras
Cameron has been awarded a contract worth approximately $100 million to supply subsea trees to Petrobras for use in their Campos Basin developments offshore Brazil. Under the contract, Cameron will provide 25 subsea Christmas trees under Petrobras’ standard design, with the installation to be supported by previously supplied standard tools and associated equipment.


 
Diana Shipping Inc. announces long-term time charter contract for MV Protefs
Diana Shipping Inc. a global shipping company specializing in the transportation of dry bulk cargoes, today announced that it has entered into a time charter contract with Hanjin Shipping Company Ltd., for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the m/v Protefs, at a gross rate of US$59,000 per day for a minimum thirty five (35) to a maximum thirty eight (38) month period.

The company aims at achieving growth of about 50% of its business by 2010 with new investments also planned to increase the production capacity.

Belden delivers HDTV solutions for UEFA EURO 2008
In sports broadcasting, top performance and reliability demand high quality products, absolute signal integrity and zero system downtime. For HDTV the required data rate has to increase between five and eleven fold, from SDI format (270 Mb/s) to 1.5 Gb/s (1080i) or even 3 Gb/s (1080p). E-Marine PJSC, the UAE based submarine cable solution provider, has announced their new state-of-the-art cable depot in Port of Salalah, in the Sultanate of Oman is completed and ready for operation. This cable depot consists of eight submarine cable storage tanks, providing a large capacity for submarine cable storage and accessories, office space and general storage.

Cuba and Venezuela to install undersea cable
Cuba and Venezuela will install an undersea optical fiber cable connecting the two countries to counter U.S. embargo, Cuba’s official daily Granma reported Monday. The cable will have a total capacity of 640 gigabytes with 320 for each optical fiber, increasing by 3,000 times Cuba’s data, voice and video transmission capacity with other countries, said Carlos Orfilia, the Venezuelan official adviser of the project.

Shell enters preliminary agreement with BPZ Energy Inc. to explore for oil and gas
The agreement calls for Shell to fund a three-phase exploration programme in exchange for a 50% interest in parts of three BPZ blocks in northern Peru. Under the agreement, Shell will evaluate progress at the end of each exploration phase and decide whether to proceed to the next one.

Eni confirms it has signed non-binding term sheet with Publigaz
Following Eni’s announcement of 29 May 2008 in relation to its proposed acquisition from Suez-Tractebel S.A. of a 57.243% interest in Distrigaz S.A. / Distrigas N.V. ("Distrigaz"), Eni confirms that it has signed a non-binding term sheet with Publigaz S.C.R.L. / Publigas C.V.B.A. ("Publigaz"), which owns a 31.25% interest in Distrigaz, in connection with the possible relationship between the parties in their capacity as reference shareholders of Distrigaz.

Dow announces further price increases, freight surcharges and idling of plants
The Dow Chemical Company will raise the price of its products by as much as an additional 25 percent in July in an effort to offset the continuing relentless rise in the cost of energy and hydrocarbon feedstocks.
