Halar - a trade name of Allied Chemical for their copolymer of ethylene and chlorotriflurorethylene. Abbreviation ECTFE

Haloarrest I - Haloarrest I is a non-halogenated flame retarded thermoplastic polyolefin with excellent low smoke and flame properties. It is used as a jacket over the XLPE insulated singles (non-XHHW), and the entire construction meets the UL 13 and 1277 specifications as a non-halogenated PLTC/TC cable. Haloarrest I meets the European Specifications on acid gas evolution and % Halogen content. This jacket can also be used with XHHW conductors for wet ratings.

Hard Drawn Copper Wire - Copper wire that has not been annealed after drawing.

Harness - an arrangement of wires and cables, usually with many breakouts, which have been pulled together or pulled into a rubber or plastic sheath, used to interconnect an electric circuit.

Hash Mark Stripe - a non-continuous helical stripe applied to a conductor for identification.

HDPE - High-density Polyethylene

Heat Distortion - Distortion or flow od a material of configuration due to application of heat.

Heat Endurance - the time of heart aging that a material can withstand before failing a specific physical or electrical test.

Heat Resistance - ability of a substance to maintain physical and chemical identity and electrical integrity under specified temperature conditions.

Heat Seal - a method for sealing by thermal fusion.

Heat Shock - a test to determine stability of a material by sudden exposure to a high temperature for a short period of time.

Helical Stripe - a continuous, colored spiral stripe applied to a conductor for circuit identification.
